Capturing a timeless Lake George resort in a new light.
The resort’s exterior repaint was mid-progress, with partially painted columns and balconies in contrasting colors. This made capturing the pool area with the main building in frame impossible without showing incomplete work.
I reframed the pool to face outward toward Lake George’s iconic views, keeping the main building behind me. Using the drone, I positioned just above the roofline to capture the pool and activity areas while showcasing the hotel’s proximity to the lake—an angle that’s both accurate and visually inviting for potential guests. To capture all of the activity areas, I was limited to a top-down shot from the drone of the pool area, which did the job and means the shot can still be used even after the painting is finished. This also means a trip back to capture the new paint job is necessary once the painting is complete, maybe at the end of the season.

Images delivered for use across brand websites, OTA listings, social media, and marketing collateral to showcase the resort’s renovation and lakeside setting.
This was my first visit to Upstate New York, and it instantly won me over. With its Adirondack peaks and shimmering lake views, it felt like a distant cousin to the alpine landscapes I know so well from living in Austria. I loved starting my mornings with drives along the lake to Bolton Landing—breakfast with the sun on the water was the perfect way to set up each day’s shoot.
Beyond the scenery, what stood out most was working with Courtney and her team. They were helpful, upbeat, and genuinely proud of their property, which made the entire experience enjoyable and seamless. For me, this shoot was more than documenting a renovation—it was about capturing a resort that feels like part of the travel industry’s heritage, where generations return to make their own summer memories.
