Natural light, subtle detail, and a timeless setting — this Salzburg shoot brought elegance into focus at just the right moment.
his wasn’t a complex shoot in terms of logistics, but I was working within a fixed time slot and hadn’t seen the space in advance. When I arrived, direct sunlight was hitting parts of the room, creating strong contrast and unwanted glare—less than ideal for refined interior photography.
I adjusted on the fly, beginning with the wider room shot and circling back to the private dining area once the light had shifted. By then, I could lean into the natural light, enhancing it to create a more cinematic atmosphere. I used subtle fill lighting on the table’s glassware and floral elements to accentuate the luxury and detail of the setup without over-lighting the scene.

Working with Steven was an absolute delight his exceptional talent and keen eye for detail have truly captured the essence and elegance of our wedding room in every shot.
This shoot was a bit special for me. Salzburg is my European base when I’m not traveling, so being able to do a job just across town—without needing a flight—was a rare treat. The Sheraton Grand Salzburg has been on my radar since the first time I set foot in the city, so finally getting the chance to photograph it felt both well-timed and well-earned. I’m really looking forward to building on this first shoot with future work at the hotel.
