A goal since relocating to Europe
Last week, I had the pleasure of traveling to Paris for a hotel photography job at Le Meridien Etoile. Although this was not my first trip to Paris, this was my first hotel photography gig in Paris, which was a thrilling prospect, given that it is the birthplace of photography. Despite the weather not being ideal, as it was raining for most of my stay, it didn’t affect my work too much since I was only taking interior shots.
Working with Parisians
Working at Le Meridien was a wonderful experience. The team I worked with was fun, and they took me for lunch in their staff canteen. They made me feel welcome and comfortable, which was very much appreciated. I enjoyed exploring the city and using the Metro to get around. It was a great opportunity to experience Paris as a local.

Running around town
After completing my work at Le Meridien, I hopped on the Metro to Montparnasse to do a walk-through of another hotel property. I am hopeful that I will be able to secure a photography job there next month. I am thrilled about the prospect of returning to Paris and exploring the city further.
Cafes and exploring
During my trip, I managed to squeeze in a few visits to some famous landmarks, including Cafe du Paix. This historic café has been a popular meeting place for Parisian intellectuals since it opened in 1862. Many famous names have frequented the café over the years, including Emile Zola, Oscar Wilde, and Marcel Proust. I enjoyed a cup of coffee while sitting in the same spot that these literary greats once occupied.

I also had the opportunity to dine at La Rotonde Gaité, which is apparently Emanuel Macron’s favourite brasserie. The brasserie is a Parisian institution that has been serving customers since 1911. It has a rich history, and its patrons have included artists, writers, and politicians. I had the poached haddock, or “églefin poché” as it appears on the menu, and it was delicious.

Short stop before the next trip
Now that I am back in Salzburg, I have only a few days to spend with my family before heading off to Santa Fe, New Mexico, for my next photography job. I will be photographing hotels in Santa Fe, Downtown Chicago, Jacksonville, Florida, and Vilano Beach, Florida. It’s a busy schedule, but I am excited about the upcoming trips.
In conclusion, my trip to Paris was a great success, and I was able to capture the beauty of the city and the hotel in my photographs. Despite the weather being less than ideal, I still managed to take some stunning shots. The team at Le Meridien made me feel welcome, and I enjoyed exploring the city and visiting some famous landmarks. I am already looking forward to my next trip to Paris and cannot wait to see what other exciting opportunities lie ahead in my photography career.
