As a hotel photographer I have seen and photographed a wide variety of hotels since 2003, Ranging from small independent boutique hotels to Full service luxury brand hotels. As my hotel photography career has evolved I find myself photographing more up-scale properties and brands. I have seen trends in hotel design come and go, but when can you say that things have changed forever? Never to go back? It’s a bit like when you see an old movie from the 60’s or 80’s. Here’s a little look at the hotels and properties we photographed during our May trip to Barbados. We decided to approach this trip a little differently, hopscotching to a few different properties over the course of ten days on the island. Since we booked a few different spaces, we strategically packed up most of the photography and video arsenal, checked in with US Customs, and got ready to go. We left wearing many metaphorical hats and carrying many, very real, rather heavy cases.
