Over the years I’ve found myself in some tight situations, Literally. If you’ve ever been in a Manhattan Hotel room in the economy category you know what I’m talking about. Now imagine having to photograph that room and get as much of it in the frame as you can. Often it means I have to get in the closet. And yes I know, it means I’ve come out of the closet a few times in my life. That one always makes my wife chuckle.
Well it was my wife who recently got me a couple of jobs photographing the inside of closets. When she first told me about it I didn’t think a whole lot about it, just that it might be kind of difficult to capture.. So I went along to the first job and it happened to be in a designer home which was featured in the Otlando Parade of Homes. The house was a modern masterpiece of design and my jaw dropped when I walked in. I’ve been in some luxury interiors, but this was going to be somebody’s home and I was filled with a little envy. Now It’s all beginning to make sense. The company I was doing the job for is called Closet Envee. When I walked into the closet (It was by definition its own room) and took a look around I was impressed. I’m sure I’ve photographed smaller bedrooms than this and a lot less fancy too. The textures and designs you can do are amazing and it actually makes closets something to really appreciate. Design and functionality. In this world of desirable products with companies like Apple, Tesla, Dyson etc. it made me start to think about my own closets and guess what? We’re having ours done now. They can design it around your lifestyle. It can have pull down ha hinging racks to maximize vertices space, or smooth operating drawers for bling that would make any jewelry shop envious. There are baskets for whatever your heart desires or rack for shoes placed right where you need them. But the genius is how they maximize space.
